Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg is fighting the war on American wages with his FWD.us organization. FWD.us really has only one goal: protecting and growing H-1B Visas. H-1B Visas allow Mark Zuckerberg, and other tech giants, such as Dropbox, LinkedIn and Microsoft, to hire illegal aliens, give them legal status, and pay them a lot less than American workers.
The organization pretends to care for immigrants and human rights. However, they only care about cheap labor. The end result is lower wages for all Americans in all industries, not just in tech jobs.
This is one more factor causing the decline in wages for Americans, and the death of the American Dream. Part of the American Dream was that working class people knew their children would grow to have better lives and higher income than the parents. This is no longer true. Middle class income has declined since the 1990s. It's getting worse, and Mark Zuckerberg is part of the problem. If you use Facebook or Instagram, you're supporting the problem.
Toshio Meronek explains in his article Mark Zuckerberg's immigration hustle:
In April 2013, Facebook founder Zuckerberg, along with early employees of tech Goliaths like Dropbox, LinkedIn and Microsoft, created the immigration reform non-profit FWD.us. FWD.us’s mission: “Building a grassroots movement” of everyday people to pass immigration reform.
That may not sound particularly controversial, but some immigration and labor activists are calling out FWD.us for favoring a specific type of immigrant: White-collar tech workers whom tech world titans could pay less than their American colleagues. (Eventually, this could mean lower wages for everyone.)
